Jacobs Ladder
The two main beaches are Sidmouth
Town Beach and Jacobs Ladder Beach,
the latter adopting its name from the
white wooden staircase that allows
access from Connaught Gardens.
The countryside is a walker’s paradise
with the East Devon Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty on its doorstep and the
South West Coast Path stretching out either
side of the village; whichever direction
you head in you’ll be sure to find amazing
views, stunning scenery and a range of
wildlife to be spotted.
Branscombe Beach
One of the most relaxing and picturesque
locations in South Devon is Branscombe,
a chocolate box village of thatched
cottages, a cosy pub and a historic
forge. The village sits on the staggeringly
scenic Jurassic Coastline, England’s first
natural World Heritage Site. The streets
of Branscombe run through the stunning
valley to the sea where you can find
Branscombe Beach, a long expanse of
shingle beach flanked by picture perfect
painted beach huts and a café.
