On the other side of the river lies Shaldon,
a charming community with great pubs,
a sandy beach and relaxed atmosphere.
Hike over The Ness and take in the views
or venture down Smugglers Tunnel to Ness
Cove. Shaldon can be reached by taking
a trip from Teignmouth on one of Britain’s
oldest passenger ferries.
Town Quay
For those looking to enjoy an active day
out, Newton Abbot has five fantastic parks
on its doorstep. These are: Bakers Park,
Courtenay Park, Forde Park, Decoy Country
Park and Stover Country Park. Stover
boasts enchanting woodland walks and
charming picnic spots, whilst at Decoy you
can splash about on the lake in a kayak
and the little ones can enjoy the play area.
