THE GROVE, CHURSTON AND
MARRIDGE WOODS
Running along the coast from Elberry Cove to Brixham, these woods have
been replanted with native broad-leaves; restoration which will secure
the woodland’s future and improve the area for wildlife. Walk through to
peaceful Churston Cove (see separate listing), excellent for swimming
and snorkelling. There are steep hills and rocky footpaths which may not
be suitable for the less mobile.

TORRE ABBEY MEADOWS
Abbey Meadows and Gardens is situated on Torquay seafront and is a
large open space used by all for events and picnics.
The park itself is host to a range of activities, such as tennis and crazy golf
(see separate listing Torre Abbey Leisure Park); it also houses the
Italian Gardens with its attractive pond with fountain and
water rock garden.

WATCOMBE WOODS
Mature woods with steep hills. Quite dense and for the more able walker.
Start your walk at Watcombe Beach car park (please note the beach
may not be accessible, please check local signage).
The atmospheric woodland has encouraged many a ghost story.
Access: Difficult, steep hills.

YOUNGS PARK
Large outdoor space behind Goodrington beach, perfect for family
picnics and dog walking. A natural habitat for swans and wild birds. Enjoy
the boating lake, have a go at crazy golf and enjoy some delightful walks
in the parkland and up into the terraced Rock Walk Gardens.
Toddlers play ground. Toilets. Nearby cafes, restaurants, refreshments.
