the lovely memorial Rose Garden, managed by Torbay Coast and
Countryside Trust. A rose lover’s haven and a beautiful spot to simply sit
and enjoy the peace and tranquility. Nearby are artisan workshops,
cafe and parkland (see Cockington Court and Cockington Village).

ROUNDHAM HEAD
Accessible headland in Paignton between the harbour and
Goodrington sands with surfaced paths. With pine-topped,
beautiful parkland and spectacular views out to sea all round
– see if you can spot the charming Spitfire Garden.

ROYAL TERRACE GARDENS (ROCK WALK)
Known locally as Rock Walk, the cliff-face gardens are situated beneath
the towering Waldon Hill, which overlooks the sea front. Rock Walk is a
network of paths with Mediterranean planting and spectacular sea views
overlooking the Bay.
The highlight is a magnificent illuminated staircase that ascends the cliff
- perfect for a stroll at dusk. A key site on the English Riviera
Global Geopark.

SCADSON WOODS
A pretty 13 acre woodland situated between Occombe and Cockington
Country Park, which can be explored via a network of pathways which
link to Manscombe Woods and Occombe Valley Woods. A good starting
point is Occombe Farm (parking, toilets, cafe).
Access also from points on Old Paignton Rd and Duchy Drive.
