SALTERN COVE PAIGNTON
An English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark Key Site. Unique in Britain,
this nature reserve extends underwater to a point 376 metres below the
low water mark. The beach is located off the coast path to the south of
Goodrington Sands. Rock pools to explore at low tide.
Type: sand, shingle, rocks.
Access: difficult - steep steps down to the beach.

SHOALSTONE BEACH BRIXHAM
Just along the coast from Brixham Harbour and beside the seawater
Shoalstone Pool (see separate listing). With rock pools at low tide.
Berry Head National Nature Reserve is nearby. Cafe. Seasonal toilets.
Type: shingle and rock. Dogs: welcome on beach but not on
pool surround. Access: limited - disabled ramp to promenade but
steps from car park to pool and beach.

ST MARY’S BAY BRIXHAM
A delightful secluded beach (Brixham’s largest) with interesting rock
formations and surrounding cliffs. It is off the South West Coast Path where
you can find wonderful panoramic views overlooking the beach
and to Berry Head National Nature Reserve.
Type: sand and shingle.
Access: difficult - via a footpath and steep steps.

TORRE ABBEY SANDS TORQUAY
Torquay’s popular main beach, located along the town’s seafront. The
sandy beach is great for making sandcastles and rests between rocky
headlands which provide a safe sheltered area. Torre Abbey Park and
Meadows is just across the road. Nearest parking 0.2ml: Abbey Park or
Shedden Hill. Toilets, refreshments, watercraft hire. Designated windsurfing
area.
