Positioned along a level seafront, Paignton is very
popular with groups, with the sea, harbour and town
centre all within close proximity.
With Paignton handily positioned between Torquay
and Brixham, it is the ideal base from which to
explore the English Riviera.
A trip on the steam train is one of our visitors’
favourite things to do. Running from Paignton
station, the train takes you along beautiful coves
and beaches, over historic viaducts and along
the River Dart to Kingswear. You can cross over
to Dartmouth and take a scenic riverboat to visit
Agatha Christie’s famous riverside residence at
Greenway, now cared for by the National Trust.
At Christmas-time, the steam train is transformed
into the magical Train of Lights.
Paignton Zoo is an inspiring day out for all ages.
The animals live in nature-themed exhibits and the
botanical garden houses many amazing plants.
Paignton is an up-and-coming town with two major
