Do you think the changes were useful? Why or why not? (Accept all logical
answers.)
What did riders think of the bicycle? (They thought it was dangerous.)

What changed? (big wheel in back, small up front)
What was missing? (brakes)
What was better? (It was safer.)
What year was this? (1880)
4.
What changed? (two wheels the same size)
What was wrong with the bicycle? (heavy and slow)
What year was this? (1900)
5.
How are bikes today different from bikes in the past? (gears, strong brakes,
pedals, and they are light and fast)

2. How are the bicycles in this piece different from the bicycles that will be
in the Green Show? (This text is about old bicycles and the Green Bicycles
are a new invention.)
