7. Let’s Play! (page 18)
Prepare small cards / strips of paper ahead of time with the actions written on them.
Play a game of Charades with the students.
Divide the class into two groups.
Each group, in turn, sends a representative to the front of the class.
That student gets an action either from what was taught today or from any familiar vocabulary
For example, ‘kick’, ‘run’, ‘sit’, etc.
The student has to act out the action and his/her group has to guess what the action was.
They then have to use it correctly in a Present Progressive sentence –"You are kicking". / "You
are sitting". / "Yoni is sitting".
Let's Write! (page 18)
Say:
Look at the picture of the gym on pages 14-15.
You are going to write a few sentences describing something from the picture.
Let's write one together.(Write it on the board)
Now, write five sentences in your notebooks.
When they are finished, have each student read one or two of the sentences he/she wrote.
Extra Activity
Simpler: Have the students find five sentences in this part that are connected to each other and are
in the Present Progressive. (They could be from the text, from the practice exercises, etc.)
More challenging: Have students write a short story based on the picture of the gym on pages 1415.
In both cases, collect these and hang them in the English corner OR have the students read them
aloud in class.
