Stay Cool with a Pop Art Fan!
In class project:
Ask the students to bring in pages from colorful newspapers and magazines. These will be used to
decorate the fan.
Have them also bring in 2 A-4 sheets of card or cardboard (1/8 of a sheet of Bristol.)
They should also bring in arts and crafts supplies – crayons, markers, scissors, glue and a stapler.
Say:
You will be making a fan.
Follow the instructions in your books to help you make it properly.
When you finish gluing and stapling, you must write one sentence about your fan.
Your sentence must explain why you chose the pictures you used to decorate your fan.
o For example, “My fan has pictures of my favorite cars on it and it keeps me cool.”
When we are done, each of you will have a chance to present and explain why you designed
your fan the way you did.
Use the checklist to help you make sure you did everything you were supposed to do.
You may want to use this rubric to assess the students' work.
