THE DETECTIVES - TEACHER’S GUIDE - Unit 3
Say:
Look at page 100 in your books.
We are going to play an advertising game.
One of you is going to come up to the front, choose a piece of paper from the (bowl /hat/ bag)
and NOT tell you what he/she chose.
Then the volunteer who is up front will try to "sell" that product to the class.
The volunteer can use the words on the board to help him/her. (Write adjectives you think
would be helpful on the board.)
The rest of the class then has to guess what our volunteer is selling us.
Whoever guesses correctly comes up to the front and tries to sell another product.
PART 5: Second Artist, More Clues!
(pages 101-107)
Let’s Remember
Ask:
What did we learn about in the last section? (ads)
What kind of ads did we see? (information, logos, adjectives, celebrities)
Let’s look at the title of this part.
Ask:
What clues did we find in the previous part? (suspects)
What do you think ‘second artist’ means? (Accept all logical guesses but lead them toward
learning about another artist.)
Who is the first artist? (Chagall)
What clues do you think we’ll find in this part? (Accept all logical guesses.)
