6. Language Focus: Adjectives (page 98)
Curriculum:
Write the following two sentences on the board.

(Accept all relevant answers.)
What does the cat look like? (fat, orange, big, funny)
The words that describe the cat are called ‘adjectives’. (Write the word on the board.)
What other adjectives can you think of? (Encourage the students to give plenty of examples.)
Look at the ads on the previous pages, What adjectives are there? (Have the students look at
the ads and provide all the adjectives they can find.)
Appreciation of Language
NOTE: It’s a good idea to use this example to show the students how their L1 differs from English in
that the word order is different. In English we use adjective – noun, whereas in Hebrew and Arabic,
we use noun-adjective order.
7. Let’s Talk! (page 98)
Say and ask:
