When you are finished, compare your chart with your partner's.
Add ideas to your chart with your partner’s help.
Then write four sentences about the painting, one for each square.
Use the example to help you, if you need it.
Use your checklist (on page 90) to make sure you did everything.
When they are finished, ask a few students to read their answers aloud.
After students have shared their answers with the class, say and ask:

Extra Activity:
Simpler: Have the students make just a list of words for each quarter of the picture. These words
should then be checked for spelling using a dictionary.
More challenging: Have the students write a short story based on what is in the painting.
