Where did he get the ideas for his paintings? (his dreams)
What important clue can we find in the sign? (This painting is from the William Bates
collection.)
Write on the board "what we see in our imagination is just as important as what we see with
our eyes" and ask the students what they think this might mean. (accept all logical answers)
After reading
Ask:
What makes Chagall so important? (He teaches us that what we see in our imagination
as important as what we see with our eyes.)
