6. Word Detective! (page 82)
Explain the activity to the students.
Say:
Each little table has one or more missing words.
Copy the tables into your notebook.
Go back to pages 76, 80 and 81 and find the
word that goes in each table; 1 through 9
Copy that word into your notebook.
For each word, copy the sentence in the book where you found the word.
When you find all the words, copy the table in ‘b’ and fill in the highlighted letters to find
the clue.
Then go back to your word list and write a new sentence for each word you found.
Have the students answer in their notebooks.
When they have finished, go over the answers with them.
