7. Word Tree: COLLECT (page 77)
Explain to the students that many words have different
forms. The word COLLECT is one such word.
Remind students of the word tree that they completed
in Unit 2 with the word INVENT.
Send the students back to the text to find three more
words that have the root "collect" in them.

NOTE: Explain to the students that many words in English have many corresponding forms and they
are all connected in meaning but used differently, since they form words that are different parts of
speech. In this case, COLLECT is a verb and it forms "collection" – a noun, "collector" – a noun that
describes the person doing the action, and "collecting" – a verb in the Progressive form.
Say:
In your notebooks, draw the tree for the word COLLECT and write as many words as you can think of.

On what days will it be open? (Sunday - Thursday)
At what times? (Monday-Thursday: 10a.m – 8p.m, Sunday: 12p.m- 6p.m.)
After Reading
Ask:
Do you think this ad is attractive? Why? (Accept all logical answers.)
