(two straight lines and a part-circle)• Ask what letter it looks like. (a Big ‘P’)• Ask: What is different? (big ‘R’ has a ‘leg’ at the bottom)Letter Cards• Open the Workbook to pages 41 and 45.• Have students carefully remove the ‘R’ and ‘r’ Letter Cards.• Chant: The letter is ‘R’. The sound is /r/. The word is ‘rub’.• Now tell students to take out the ‘Pp’ and ‘Nn’ Letter Cards and put them on theirtables with the big and small letters in pairs, i.e. ‘Rr’, ‘Pp’ and ‘Nn’.• Say: Point to the letter ‘P’.• Chant together and do the appropriate action: The letter is ‘P’. The sound is /p/.The word is ‘point’.• Repeat for the letter ‘Nn’.• Call out: big ‘R’. Students must raise the correct card.• Call out: small ‘r’.
