Have students come up to the board and draw a line from each small letter to each
big letter.

Sing the ABC Song (track 7). Do the actions for the letters learned.

The activities on page 34 in the Workbook may be used to assess students' ability to write
big and small letters.
Open the Workbook to page 34.
Activity 1
• Tell students to write the correct big letter beside each small letter.
Activity 2
• Ask students to look at the pictures. Make sure they know all the words.
• Below each picture write the first letter of the word. (1. F, 2. T, 3. G, 4. J, 5. J, 6. G, 7.
T, 8. F, 9. F, 10. T, 11. G, 12. J)
Note: Students may write big or small letters.
Activity 3
• Tell students to write the correct small letters beside each big letter.
Assessment Activities

Identifying Letters by Name and by Sound

Give each student a blank page (half the size of an A4 sheet).
Instruct students to write their name at the top of the page. Have students write the
numbers 1 - 4 down the left hand side of the page.
