Player #2 on the Guitars team then does the action for a letter, and Player #2 on
the Gorillas team must guess the name and sound. If it is correct, the ‘Gorilla’
writes the letter on the Gorilla’s scoreboard. Continue until all players have had
a turn.
The team with the most letters written on their scoreboard wins.
Name Cards Activity
If there are students whose names begin with the letter ‘G’ follow the instructions for
Name Cards Activity in Lesson 8, on page 21.
Note: If a student’s name begins with the soft sound of ‘G’, e.g. George, explain that their
name does begin with the letter ‘G’, and that there is another sound for the letter ‘G’ that
they will learn later.

Draw a big ‘G’ on the board. Ask what shapes it has. (a part-circle and a straight line)
Now ask: What letter does big ‘G’ look like? (big ‘C’). And ask: What is the difference?
(‘G’ has a straight line added in the middle)
