Name Cards Activity
If there are any students in the class whose names begin with ‘B’, follow the Name Cards
Activity in Lesson 8, on page 21.
Game: Letter Cards
• Have students take out the ‘B’ and ‘b’ Letter Cards.
• Ask students what the differences are between the big ‘B’ and the small ‘b’. (The big
‘B’ has two part circles and the small ‘b’ has only one part circle.)
• Divide the class into pairs and Tell students to take out the Letter Cards for ‘Dd’, ‘Qq’
and ‘Pp’. Put all of the Letter Cards in a pile with the ‘B’ and ‘b’ Letter Cards.
• Mix up the Letter Cards
• Instruct player #1 to pick a card from the pile. The player must say: The letter is __.
The sound is /_/. The word is__________.
• If player #1 is correct he/she keeps the card. If not, the card is put back at the bottom
of the pile. Player #2 then takes a turn.
• The player with the most Letter Cards at the end of the game wins.
ABC Poster, Mural and Song
• Have a student point to the letters ‘Bb’ on the poster.
• Tell the student to chant and do the appropriate action: The letter is ‘B’. The sound is
/b/. The word is _______.
• Hold up the mural piece for ‘Bb’.
• Ask where they think the letter ‘Bb’ goes. (after the letters ‘Aa’, between ‘Aa’ and ‘Cc’
and before the letters ‘Cc’)
• Hang up the mural piece.
• Sing the ABC Song (track 7). Do the actions for the letters they have learned.

Open the Workbook to page 27.
Activity 1
• Have students take out their plasticine. Have them roll small logs to cover the ‘B’s at
the top of the page.
• Have students color the letters at the top of the page, following the direction of the
arrows.
Activity 2
• Draw a small ‘b’ on the Letter House poster.
• Ask where small ‘b’ lives. (on the top floor and in the middle of the house)
• Draw a big ‘B’ on the Letter House poster.
• Ask where big ‘B’ lives. (on the top floor and in the middle of the house)
• Have students write rows of ‘Bb’s. As they write each letter they can say the sound /b/.
