Saying the Letter Names and Sounds
Aim: To check each student’s ability to say the letter names and sounds.
Arrange to spend a few minutes with each student individually. Show each student the
card for each capital and lower case letter that has been taught. The student must chant:
The letter is ___. The sound is /_ /. The word is_______.
