• Look at the pictures. Ask students what each picture shows. (fox, taxi, box, Max)
• Have all students repeat the names of the items.
• Ask students to trace over the letter ‘x’ in each word.
• Say: Draw a line from the fox to Max.
• Say: Draw a line from the taxi to the box.
• Ask: What letter did you make? (X)

• Open the Workbook to page 53 and carefully remove the shoe.
• Students should make the ‘x’ as they lace the shoe. A dotted line between the numbered
holes indicates that the lace should be threaded through the next hole, under the
cardboard and back up.
