- Teach the three sounds of the letter ‘Y’ using the following flashcards: Yoyo,
Fly, Baby, Yellow and Family.
- Explain that some letters in English make more than one sound.
• Write the title of the story: The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly
- Change the word “old” to “young” and teach the opposites young and old
- The Young Lady Who Swallowed a Fly. The new title now contains the three
‘Y’ sounds.
• Tell pupils: Open the Practice Pages to page 40.
- Discuss the picture. Say: What do you see?
- Ex. 24 - Complete the exercise according to instructions.
• Tell pupils: Open the Practice Pages to page 41.
- Ex. 25 - Read the following text or play ex. 25 from: www.eadventure.co.il/
pp7 and complete the exercise according to instructions.
It is Sunday. The family is at home. 1. What day is it? 2. Where is the family?
Tom has a yoyo. The yoyo is yellow. Tom is playing with the yellow yoyo.
3. What color is Tom’s yoyo?
Danny is a baby. Danny wants the yoyo. Danny is angry. Danny starts to cry
and cry. 4. What is the name of the baby?
Daddy asks: “Why is Danny crying?” Tom says: “He wants the yoyo, Daddy.
But it is MY yoyo!” Daddy says: “Don’t cry, Danny. Tom will share the yoyo
with you. Tom is a big boy.” 5. Who says “Don’t cry”?
Now the baby is happy. Baby Danny has the yellow yoyo. Tom is happy too.
He is happy to share the yoyo with baby Danny.
