- Ask each pupil to draw one thing that they like in the story which connects to
something they have at home – a game, a cube, a f lute, music, tunes, etc.
- Once they are done ask each pupil to present it to the class saying:

- Practice the difference between the long and short /U/ sounds in words.
- Put picture flashcards on the table and ask pupils to categorize them as the
short /u/ sound like in sun or the long /U/ sound like in June.
- Add ‘u_e’ to the picture dictionary.
