ABC●The Letter G- Show the cover of the story "From Head to Toe."- Discuss the cover. What do pupils see? A gorilla!- Tell pupils that gorilla begins with a /g/ sound and the letter is G. Put theGg flashcards on the board. Ask pupils what other words they know withthe /g/ sound. Elicit: green, gray, guitar, girl, goodbye.- Put appropriate picture cards under the Gg cards. Put wordcards under thepictures.- Ask for names that begin with the /g/ sound: Gonen, Guy, Goni, Gilla, etc.●Read the story together. Ask pupils to take special notice of animals whosename begins with the sounds they have learned.Song●"ABC" (song #1.42)●"Go Go Grandma" (song #2.32)ABC●Writing- Tell pupils to sing "ABC" and stop when they get to the letter G. On theABC strip, point to the letter G.- Ask pupils: Where on the ABC strip is the letter G? Elicit that the letterG is between F and H, both letters that they already know. Point to the letters.- Draw the house and write the letters Gg in the house.- Ask pupils if they can see something different about the small g. Show themthat the small g goes down to the basement of the house.
