Describing Actions
≠ In the stories From Head to Toe and The Little Red Hen, animals are
pictured doing many things. Use this opportunity to reinforce the verb
form is + Ving (present progressive).
- Put the following action flashcards on the board: boy sitting, boy standing,
girl (Goldilocks) sleeping, boy reading, crying, eating, planting.
≠ Next to each flashcard, write a sentence describing the action (The boy is
sitting.). Make sure pupils see the repetitive form is + Ving in each
sentence by underlining or coloring the verb form.
