Introduce new animals: fish, bird, using the appropriate flashcards.
- Tell pupils: This is a fish. It lives in the water.
- Ask pupils: What color is the fish? What color is the bird? What
sound does the fish make? Demonstrate opening your mouth like a fish.
What sound does a bird make? Tweet, tweet.

Combination Game (game #32)
- Play the game as a group competition.
- Use the following items: kitchen, bedroom, living room, bathroom, cow,
hen, monkey, cat.
- Remind pupils how to play by modeling a few times. Mark X in the box
where the words cow and kitchen meet in the matrix and say: The cow is
in the kitchen.
- Sing "Animals in the House" (song #2.16).
- Mark X in the correct box in the matrix according to the words of the song.
Point to the two elements on the matrix as you sing.
- Sing the song again and reinforce the words fish, bird and all the other
animals pupils have learned.

- For the second round of singing, assign parts to pupils. Give each group
a different animal flashcard. Pupils make their sound as the animal is
mentioned in the song.
Note: You may have to assign two groups the same animal.
