I. Introductions and Greetings
Song

"Good Morning Dear Pupils" (song #1.6)
●
Do the special greeting with Max, with gestures.
●
"Days of the Week" (song #1.34)
- Have pupils take turns putting the days of the week flashcards on the board,
while saying all the days of the week in correct order.
- One pupil asks: What day is today? The class responds.
- Say all the days of the week together and sing the song again.

"ABC" (song #1.42)
●
Stop occasionally and call on one pupil to say the missing letter.
Game
●
What Letter Am I? (game #61)
- Call on pupils or pairs of pupils to come to the front of the room and form
a letter with their bodies. The class must guess what the letter is.
- If the class cannot guess, then the pupils have to say a few words beginning
with their letter.
- After each letter, the class chants: The letter is ____ , the sound is____.
- Repeat five times.

Pass the Message (game #30)
- Have pupils form groups.
- Whisper the name of a letter in a pupil’s ear. Tell the pupil to whisper the
letter back to you and also a word that begins with that letter.
- The pupil whispers the word to the next pupil in the group who thinks of
another word that begins with that letter.
- When the group is finished, ask pupils to share the different words they said
and heard. This can be done with several letters.
