I. Introductions and Greetings

"Good Morning and How Do You Do?" (song #2.2)

Ask Max: How do you feel today?
- Max answers with an emotion.
- Max then asks several pupils the same question. Pupils respond and make
an appropriate face with intonation to express the emotion.
●
Ask pupils: What day is today? Review the days of the week.

"Baa Baa White Sheep" (song #2.13)

"ABC" (song #1.42)
- Have pupils wave their hands in the air when they sing a previously
learned letter.

"The ABC Begins with A" (song #2.33)
- Ask a pupil to point to the letter B. Ask him/her to say words that begin with
the sound /b/.
- Repeat this activity with a few more letters.
- Ask a pupil to point to the letter W. Ask him/her to say words with the
sound /w/.

"Where Is the Wolf?" (song #2.37)
• Tell pupils: Open the Practice Pages to page 107.
- Note: Teach the words ‘log’, ‘and’ and ‘to’ + verb before completing ex. 9.
- Ex. 9 - Complete according to the instructions.

Cross the River (game #37)
- Use flashcards of previously learned letters. Pupils say the name of the
letter, or the sound and a word that begins with the letter.
- Draw a river on the board and stick the flashcards across the river.
