- Choose 12 pupils from group 1. Give each pupil the role of one of the 12
animals in the book.
- Choose 12 pupils from group 2. Give each pupil the role of a child
corresponding to the 12 animals featured in the book.
- Call one pupil (not one of the 24 actors) to stand in front of the class. This
pupil is assigned the role of the first child in the book, the child touching
his head and his toe.
- Have the 2 groups (animal roles and children roles) come to the front of the
class and stand in two rows facing each other.
- Read the story again. Pupils will read with you according to their roles. The
animal asks: Can you do it? The corresponding pupil says: I can do it and
does the movement.
- If the class is large, do the activity twice so that everyone has a turn.
