Ask pupils how they think the video fits the topics they have been learning about, e.g., making the
world a better place, cleaning up, saving animals, etc.

Optional enrichment project: Have pupils work in small groups to make an advertisement for a
garbage clean-up event in their town, e.g., beach clean-up, park clean-up, school yard clean-up.
Remind pupils of the features that this text type requires: event name, date/time, contact
information, etc.

Before teaching the grammar form, review singular subject pronouns (taught previously in part 1).
Remind pupils that pronouns can be used instead of nouns.

Say the following sentences and demonstrate the motions:
I can jump. (Do the motion yourself.) We can jump. (Do the motion with a volunteer pupil.)
You can jump. (Point to a volunteer pupil to do the motion.) You can jump. (Point to several
pupils to do the motion.)
He can jump. (Ask a boy pupil to do the motion.) She can jump. (Ask a girl pupil to do the
motion.) They can jump. (Ask both the boy and the girl to do the motion.)
Ask pupils to identify what was different about the first sentence and the second sentence in
each pair. Determine that the first sentences involved one person jumping, and the others
involved more than one person.
Tell pupils that they will learn about plural pronouns in English (Use L1 if needed).

Introduce plural subject pronouns.
•
Explain to pupils that in English 'you' can mean one person or many.
•
Ask students to compare the subject pronouns to pronouns in their own language. How are they the
same or different?
