Do the activity to review and practice the vocabulary (show the word cards): air, beach, cat, cow, dog,
elephant, farm, fish, flower, forest, garden, grass, monkey, mountain, park, river, sea, snake, tree.

Demonstrate the game by saying: I go outside, and I see (a flower).
Ask a pupil: What do you see? Have the pupil say what you see, then add another word to the
list: I go outside, and I see (a flower) and (grass).
Pupils can use the words on the board to help them or add another relevant word.
Continue until all pupils have added to the sentence.
Have pupils play in groups. The larger the group, the more difficult the game is.

Have pupils match the sentence to the correct picture.

Have pupils read the poem or read together as a class. Then, have pupils find as many of the new
words (from bottom of the page) in the poem as they can.

Use the text to practice reading for fluency. Have pupils read the poem again aloud. Have pupils echo
and imitate your reading to help them and assess them for fluency skills. Repeat the reading practice
as needed.

Grandmother: I want to go on a trip to the forest.
I like to camp next to the river near the mountains. It is fun to sleep outside.
On the top of the mountains it is snowy and cold!
Lily: Father, where do you want to go?
Father: I want to go to a sunny place. The air is dry, and it is hot.
There is no river or sea. There are no trees or grass. But it is beautiful!
Lily: Brother, where do you want to go?
Brother: I want to go to the sea. It is warm on the beach and cool in the water.
I like to go on a boat on the water. I can swim with the fish!
