The following types of exercises appear in every part of every unit:
• Vocabulary exercises that practice new and reviewed words to ensure ample repetition.
• Focus on Form exercises following introduction of the grammatical structures in the Course Book.
• Reading texts along with comprehension exercises.
• Writing exercises that develop pupils’ knowledge of spelling and sentence forms.
• Ready to Read with Words I Know exercises to practice phonics and phonemic awareness through
new and reviewed vocabulary
• Reading Review passages, providing generous reading practice for all in a heterogeneous class.
• Word Workout exercises for further enhancement of the learning of vocabulary depth.
• Out of the Box extramural activities that take place alongside curricular activities. These important
tasks can serve as an opportunity for interdisciplinary work and allow pupils to develop a variety of
skills and abilities in multiple disciplines.
• Checklists for Alternative Assessment tasks for performance-based learning assessment.
• Self-Assessments for each unit as a form of reflection.
• Focus on Form Alternative grammar practice extension.

6. Structure of the Teacher’s Guide
The Teacher’s Guide provides comprehensive guidelines for teaching of all the material in the Magical
program, including vocabulary, grammar, and the tasks in the Course Book, to save you time and make class
preparation easier.
At the start of each unit in the Teacher’s Guide, there is a comprehensive list of all the Can-dos that are
covered in the unit. The teacher can also find the new vocabulary and grammatical structures, according to
the specifications in the English Curriculum 2020.
The Teacher’s Guide is a great resource for designing a lesson procedure. The flow of each lesson is clearly
dictated, beginning with greetings, review of previously learned material, teaching of new material, practice
through specially designed Vocabulary Activities as well as tasks in both the Course Book and Workbook, and
reflections. In the beginning of every lesson, teachers should take the opportunity reviewed the previous
lesson’s objectives, reminding the pupils of what was worked on as an introduction for the upcoming lesson.
