Review the prepositions using the word cards before doing the activity. Do a gesture for each
preposition to remind the pupils of the meaning.

Practice the prepositions using classroom objects to demonstrate different positions you describe
using prepositions. For example, a book, a chair, a pencil, or a bag. Say a sentence and have
pupils use their classroom objects to demonstrate the meaning. For example: The book is under
the table. (Have pupils place their books under their desks.)

Say a true or a false statement about one of the preposition words. For example, put a pencil on
top of a book and say: The pencil is on the book. or The pencil is in the book. Have pupils say
"Yes" or "No" to indicate if the sentence is true or false.
For false statements, encourage pupils to correct the sentence.
Repeat to practice all the prepositions.
