21. The Category Is…
• Divide the class into small groups. Choose a category that includes some words from the unit (as
well as previously learned words), e.g. people, things you see in nature, animals, verbs, etc.
• Set a timer for 5 minutes and allow each group to make a list of as many words as they can that
fits the category, without looking at their Course Books. Have pupils nominate a scribe to write
the words down. Remind pupils to be as quiet as possible so as to not be overheard by the other
groups.
• After the time is up, ask groups one at a time to share the words they wrote down. Write all the
words on the board for pupils to see. If any word is written by more than one group, it will not
receive points (for example, if more than one group writes
