Ask: What day is it today? (Elicit the full date and write it on the board: Today is (Sunday), (April 21).
Have pupils copy the date into their notebooks.

Go around the room and ask different pupils: If you could visit any country or city in the world,
where do you want to go? What do you want to do or see there?
Vocab Activity

Do the activity to review the vocabulary (show the word cards): airplane, airport, boat, bus, car, close,
corner, country, cross, far, flight, pack, straight, suitcase, taxi, train, travel, turn, vacation.

Review the vocabulary using the word cards before doing the activity.
Word Web (VA #12)

Draw a word web with the word "vacation" in the center.
In their notebooks, have pupils copy the word web and write at least
three vocabulary words around it that relate to the center word.
Pupils can choose any words they associate with the center word.
For example, airport, suitcase, travel, etc.
