Ask pupils what kinds of questions they think someone might ask at an Information Center.
Have pupils listen to the dialogues at the Information Center. Have pupils answer the questions about
each dialogue.

You may choose to have pupils listen to each dialogue once, then read the question, and listen a
second time to answer the questions.
Teach the new vocabulary word "tell" through the context of the dialogues (use L1 if needed to
explain the meaning).

Worker: Welcome to the Airport Information Center. How can I help you?
Man A: Can you tell me how to get to the train station, please?
Worker: Yes, I can. The train station is not far from here.
Go outside and walk straight down this street.
At the corner, turn right.
There is a sign for the train station.
Man A: Great, thank you!

Worker: Welcome to the Airport Information Center. How can I help you?
Woman: Can you tell me how to get to the bus station, please?
Worker: Yes, I can. The bus station is very close to here.
Turn left and then go straight.
There is a restaurant on your left.
When you arrive at the restaurant,
cross the street to get to the bus station.
Woman: Thank you!

Man B: Can you tell me how to get a taxi, please?
Worker: Yes. Go straight and then turn right at the next corner.
Wait in line for the taxi next to the sign.
