Have pupils listen to the song "Hello, Goodbye" by The Beatles.

Have pupils listen for vocabulary they know and/or provide the lyrics to the song for pupils to read

Elicit opposite words from the song: hello/goodbye, yes/no, stop/go. Elicit and review other opposite
words the pupils know: above/below, different/same, win/lose, easy/difficult, before/after.

Optional enrichment project: Have pupils write their own verse to the tune of the song using other
opposite words in English. Have pupils work with a partner and either perform their verse in front of
the class or make a recording of their song on audio or video.
