Do the activity to review the vocabulary (show the word cards): artist, band, famous, guitar, hear,
lesson, music, play, practice, radio, sing, singer.

Show the review words or hide them for a challenge.
Choose a word. Don't tell the pupils the word you chose. Begin by writing the first letter of the
word on the board. Have pupils guess which word you are writing. After a few seconds, if pupils
haven't guessed correctly, add the second letter. Continue until pupils guess the word, or you
have written the complete word on the board.
Play a few rounds to practice different words. The teacher may choose a volunteer to lead.

Have pupils look at the text and make predictions about the timeline based on this information,
pictures, and their captions.
Teach the new vocabulary word "still" through the context of the text (use L1 if needed to explain
the meaning).
After reading, ask the pupils who The Beatles were, and why they think they were so important. Ask
pupils what the text says about the band today. Ask pupils if they have heard of the band before, and
if they have heard their music.
