Ask pupils what these words have in common. Determine that they are all words that are used to
describe where something is (prepositions) (use L1 if needed).
Elicit other prepositions that pupils know and write a list on the board: behind, in, in front of,
near, next to, on, under.
Have pupils point to and read each new word in their Course Books on page 102.

Have pupils use two of their personal classroom items to demonstrate the prepositions, for
example, a pencil and a book.
Have pupils position their items to demonstrate each sentence you say: Show me& the pencil is
below the book. Show me& the pencil is next to the book, etc.
Have all pupils stand up at the start of the game. During the game, have pupils who show a
position other than the one you say sit down.
Repeat to practice as many prepositions as possible.
