MAGICAL Teacher's Guide - Book - Page 136
•
Tell pupils that the school wants to continue Happy and Healthy Week to Friday. Have pupils work in
pairs or small groups to write a new activity to add to the flyer. They should include a sentence about
the activity and draw a picture in their notebooks.
Out of the Box
•
Have pupils follow the instructions to complete the Out of the Box project. This task can serve as an
opportunity for interdisciplinary work, to be done in cooperation with the sports and/or health
teacher in the school.
•
Have pupils put together their own Happy and Healthy event at school, like the event in the flyer
Happy and Healthy Week. The event can be a week, a day, or even a single class period.
•
Divide pupils into pairs, small groups, or involve multiple English classes to prepare activities for the
event. Have pupils use the flyer on page 88 of their Course Books for ideas. All activity ideas should
promote general health, physical health, and mental/emotional health learning and practice.
•
Have pupils prepare a flyer like the one on page 88, with all the information for their event.
Workbook pages 112-115
•
Have pupils complete the tasks. Review the instructions for each task before allowing pupils to work
on their own or with a partner/small group.
•
When pupils are finished, check answers.
Wrapping Up

•
Ask pupils (encourage responses in English and emphasize the target vocabulary in the pupils'
answers): What is the best advice you know for being healthy?
