Draw a word web with the word "healthy" in the center.
In their notebooks, have pupils copy the word web and write at least
healthy
three vocabulary words around it that relate to the center word.
Pupils can choose any words they associate with the center word.
For example, exercise, vegetables, sleep etc.
Repeat to create another word web for: happy.
Have pupils work in partners or small groups. When pupils are finished, ask each group to share a
word web with the class.
Alternatively, say the word and then call on three pupils to give three associated words.

Before reading, ask pupils about the text type. Elicit that it is a flyer and point out the features of the
text type (event name, date, contact information, etc.).

Read the text together with the pupils.

Have pupils look at the text and make predictions about the type of information in the text based
on the pictures, text type, and title. Determine that this is an advertisement for a week-long
event at school about health (Happy and Healthy Week).
Remind pupils that they have seen this text type before (Fun in the Forest, Course Book page 42).
Teach the new vocabulary word "all" through the context of the text (use L1 if needed to explain
the meaning).
After reading, ask the pupils what they can do each day at the event.
