Have pupils watch for food vocabulary they know. Elicit the vocabulary at the end of the video, or
have pupils write the words down in their notebooks: chicken, banana, vegetables, etc.

Ask pupils how they think the video fits the topics they have been learning about, e.g., being healthy,
cooking healthy meals, etc.

Optional enrichment project: Have pupils work in pairs or groups to create their own recipe videos,
based on either a recipe in the "Healthy Snacks" video or the Banana Ice Cream recipe on page 81 of
the Course Book.

Have pupils video themselves making a recipe for a healthy snack. Pupils should begin by showing
and saying each ingredient and continue by saying the instructions (using the imperative
structure) as they do them.

on their own or with a partner/small group.

Before reading, ask pupils about the text type. Elicit that it is a social media post and point out the
features of the text type (username, photo, captions).

Have pupils look at the text and make predictions about the type of information in the text based

Read the first two posts of the text together with the pupils (2 panels).

After reading, ask the pupils which meals Ben cooks. Elicit what the pupils have learned from reading
the text.

Ask pupils to give a personal response: Do you like the food Ben makes? Which of Ben9s meals
do you want to eat? Do you cook healthy meals too? What can you cook?
