Have the pupil who guessed correctly come to the board to play the next round. Play several
rounds to practice the words.

Before teaching the grammar form, ask pupils to look at the sentences in the Course Book.

Ask pupils to identify which words in the questions describe "who." (Elicit the pronouns) Remind
pupils that these words are the subjects of the sentences.
Ask pupils to identify the forms of the to be verb and where they are in the questions.
Tell pupils that they will learn where to put the to be verb in order to form a question (Use L1 if
needed).
Introduce the verb to be (questions).

Review the verb to be, its meaning in English and its present tense positive/negative forms (am,
is, are).
Explain that in order to make a question, the to be verb (am, is, are) is said in the beginning of the
sentence. The subject then follows. Use L1 if needed.
Show how this is different from a positive to be sentence by giving the examples:
You are at the game.
