Before listening, read together with the pupils: How to live a healthy life. Have pupils use the new
vocabulary to make predictions about the advice in the listening by looking at the pictures.

Have pupils listen to the advice about living a healthy life. Have pupils point to the correct picture as
they listen.

Teach the new vocabulary word "hour" through the context of the listening text. Use L1 if needed
to explain the meaning.

Do you live a healthy life? Listen to the advice to find out.
1. Eat healthy food like fruit and vegetables. It is important to eat a healthy
breakfast every morning before you go to school.
2. Exercise every day so you are strong and healthy. You can walk to school
in the morning or ride your bicycle in the park in the afternoon.
3. Don9t forget your water bottle! You should drink a lot of water every day.
4. You should sleep 8-10 hours every night, so you are not tired at school.
5. Don9t forget to wash your hands! Wash your hands before you eat
and after you go to the bathroom.
6. Talk to your friends and family if you feel sad or mad.
They can help you feel happy and give you good advice!

After listening, have pupils match the sentences to the pictures in task 1.

Ask pupils the following questions. Encourage responses in English and emphasize the target
vocabulary in the pupils' answers. Reassure pupils that there is not one correct answer.
1. Do you think Ben9s advice is good advice? Why or why not? (Elicit any logical response.)
2. Which advice do you think is most important?
3. What other good advice for a healthy life do you know? (Elicit any logical response.)

Have pupils talk to a partner and say if the sentences in task 2 are true for them. For every true
sentence, have pupils give themselves one point. Then, have them answer the question: Do you live a
healthy life?
