thinking skills for this level.
• What year is it?
• How do you know it’s not happening today?
• What does he like to do?
• What’s his last name?
• Turn to your partner and try to find as many clues as you can about Albert from his
room.
• Make a list and then we’ll talk about them all.
Pair Work: Have the students work in pairs to make a
list of all the items they notice and what they think is
important to find out about Albert. Allow about two
minutes for this activity.
When they are finished, check their lists with the class.
Ask the students to explain what each item tells them
or what they might learn from the items.
SI: Students interact for a limited
range of purposes, such as following
basic instructions and directions,
asking for and giving information,
making and fulfilling simple requests.
A few of the things we know about the boy:
• He lives in Pine Lake.
• His last name is Sparkov.
• He likes clocks.
• He has a pet parrot.
• He likes computers.
• He likes history.
• He likes snorkeling.
• He plays a musical instrument / in a band.
Ask the students if they like any of the things the boy likes. Let them compare their own
likes to the things we can see in his room.
