Have the students answer the two questions in their notebooks. Then discuss their answers.

Moon (Cosmos), or he’s an astronaut in the future and that’s how things work.
2. Have the students make logical suggestions.
Bridging Text and Context
5. Let’s Talk and Write!
HOTS: COMPARE AND CONTRAST
Have the students read the pullout box about Lucy and
Stephen Hawking on page 178 again. Ask them to answer the
question orally. Remind them that Eric is Annie’s father and
George is Annie’s friend.
ALC: Students understand the
historical, social and / or
cultural contexts of the text
and its author.
Have them express an opinion and their ideas. Find out if this
information helped them understand the story better. They should
note that Eric is Annie’s father and he is a scientist, like Hawking.
