Part 3 – What Is Lost?
HOTS: PREDICT
Section Title – Turn the students’ attention to the heading of the section. Ask them to try to
determine who or what gets lost in the park and how it’s connected to our story so far.
Remind them of their answers at the end of the section to see how many of the students
were correct.
Vocabulary
Before going on to exercise 1, focus on the Vocabulary Ruler on page 55.
If you have access to the digital format, go to the Vocabulizer online
(www.eadventure.co.il/LFO/vocab) and have the students work there. If not, teach the
vocabulary from the book.
Make sure the students are familiar with the words in the Words I Know (door, garden,
happy, open, see, walk).
Read them and have the students explain/show you what the words mean. Do at least one
review activity. For ideas, go to page v, Teaching Vocabulary.
Teach the new vocabulary words from New Words (first, second, third, close (v), gate, hall,
her, his, lost, stairs). Reinforce these new words via at least one or two activities.
For more ideas on how to work on vocabulary, go to page v, Teaching Vocabulary.

HOTS: GENERATE POSSIBILITIES
