LFO Teacher's Guide - Book - Page 7
The unit parts are all titled in order to provide clues about the section. The teacher should
relate to the section titles, having the students predict what the section is about, what might
happen, etc.
Each unit has a different problem that needs to be solved or a question that needs to be
answered. The students learn to look for clues and to notice small details.
Design and Layout of Student’s Book
Let’s Find Out has a strong visual scaffolding for students. This scaffolding clearly
differentiates between what students will be learning and how to learn it.
The main bar of each page contains the content – comics, stories, activities, language practice,
and so on. The main bar shows students what they will be learning.
The Visual Learning Bars (VLBs) hold flags that identify learning objectives, as well as
instructions, new and review vocabulary, guidelines and tips.
Units are color-coded. Page footers show both unit and part, making it easy to see where you
are.
Language Focus pages are clearly shaded to make them easier to spot as you flip through the
book.
