. Have the students copy the sentences into their notebooks and fill in the missing words,
using the word bank provided.
When they are finished, check their answers with them.

. Have the students copy the headings of each category into their notebooks. They should
write each word from the word bank in the right category. One word doesn’t belong in any
of the categories. They need to write one sentence using that word (king).

• Buildings: school, supermarket,
• Words with ‘ar’: card, park, smart,
• Things in Albert’s room: chairs, window, book
• Months that end in ‘y’: January, February, July
• Words that end with ‘ing’: swimming,
• Directions on a map: turn right, go straight, turn left
• Things you put in sandwiches: tomatoes, avocado, chicken,
• Words that end with ‘e’: like, cake, note
