Part 2 – What is My Name?
HOTS: PREDICT
Section Title – Turn the students’ attention to the heading of the section. Ask them to guess
what the character’s name is (Albert). Remind them of their answers at the end of the
section to see how many of the students were correct.
1. Let’s Talk!
Pair Work: Have the students work in pairs to discuss what
they see in the picture. They should make a list of all the
items they see and what they can do with them. If they
don’t know how to say something, have them write it down
in their own language and you’ll help them with the
translation.
SI: Students interact for a limited
range of purposes, asking for and
giving information.
Possible answers:
an intercom, a telephone, a computer, a picture, a calendar
After they finish, review the picture with the class to make sure everyone knows how to say
all the items.
2. Let’s Listen and Answer!
Explain to the students that they will listen to something and
they have to decide if each sentence is true or false. In their
notebooks they should write the number of the sentence and
next to each one, write T for True and F for false.
Before they start, have the students read the sentences to make
sure they are clear.
